Chesapeake Children’s Museum
The Chesapeake Children’s Museum located in Annapolis is dedicated to education and protection of Chesapeake Bay ecology “for all our children and for the children in us all.”
Annapolis Tours & Watermark Cruises

POINTS OF HISTORICAL INTEREST IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY
Historic Annapolis Foundation
This is probably the best single resource for learning about colonial Annapolis’ historic buildings, historical preservation societies organizations, cultural museums, and local archaeology.
Historic London Town
The London Town Foundation operates the Historic London Town and Gardens which includes a twenty-three acre waterfront park on the banks of the South River and the William Brown House, a National Historic Landmark house and museum. This historical treasure dates back to the late 17th and early 18th Centuries.
The Maryland State House
The Maryland State House (built in the 1770s) is the oldest state capital building in the United States that has been in continuous legislative use. The Maryland General Assembly convenes for session at the State House three months during the year. The State House is now cared for and maintained by the State House Trust.
William Paca House
This five-part Georgian styled home was built by William Paca, governor of Maryland from 1782-85 and signer of the Declaration of Independence. It was restored by and is now owned and operated as museum by the Historic Annapolis Foundation.
Hammond-Harwood House
Considered by some to be one of the most important colonial houses in America, the Hammond-Harwood House was built in 1774 by tobacco farmer Matthias Hammond and designed by English architect William Buckland at a time often referred to as the Golden Age of Annapolis.
The Carroll House
This historic Annapolis property, with its origins in early 1700s, was home to three generations of Carroll family members, one of which (Charles Carroll of Carrollton) was a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
