GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SEVERNA PARK
Severna Park is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland with 447 miles of shoreline on the upper portion of the Broadneck Peninsula along the Severn and Magothy Rivers, both of which are major tributaries to the Chesapeake Bay. Neighborhoods in Severna Park consist mostly of established, well-maintained single family detached homes along tree-lined streets. Many homes are located in waterfront communities with private access beaches, boat docks, ramps, piers, clubhouses, and/or pools.
In addition to having desirable waterfront proximity and many local parks, a major portion of the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail (B&A Trail) winds its way through Severna Park. This 13 mile trail connects Annapolis with Glen Burnie and is part of the East Coast Greenway (referred to by some as an urban Appalachian Trail) that will eventually reach from Maine to Florida. The B&A Trail, which was built along the once active Washington-Baltimore-Annapolis railroad line, is now used for biking, hiking, and running. Parking for the trail is available in Severna Park off Earleigh Heights Road.
Severna Park is conveniently located within about a 45 minute drive of either Baltimore or Washington, DC, and is only minutes from downtown historic Annapolis, thus provides a great example of a suburban, mid-Atlantic living.attractions.
